The forthcoming UFC Fight Night Hamburg card has taken another hit as Ariel Helwani of ESPN is reporting that Ilir Latifi is injured and off the card, as he was supposed to fight Glover Teixeira in a light heavyweight division co-main event.
There is no word at this time as to the extent of the injury suffered by Latifi and how long the fighter is going to be out of action.
UFC officials are seeking a replacement to fight Teixeira, who is expected to remain on the card at this time.
Teixeira (27-6-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last five UFC bouts, with the latest fight being a victory over Misha Cirkunov at UFC On Fox 26. Teixeira has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion Jon Jones at UFC 172. Teixeira has suffered a total of six losses as a professional MMA fighter, but none of those defeats came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night hamburg takes place on Sunday, July 22 from the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany with Anthony Smith and Mauricio Rua headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
