Frank Camacho has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been pulled from UFC Vegas 10, replacing him against Brok Weaver is Jalin Turner.
BJPenn.com first reported the news.
Weaver (15-5-0) is one-for-two in the UFC. His lone win came over Rodrigo Vargas at UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho. Weaver also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 8, defeating Devin Smyth by way of unanimous decision. Weaver has won two of his last three fights by way of disqualification. It has been almost two years since the fighter got a finish.
Turner (9-5-0) has rotated wins and losses throughout his UFC run, with the latest fight being a second round TKO win over Josh Culibao at UFC Fight Night Auckland. Turner also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 12, defeating Max Mustaki by first round TKO. Turner has competed 14 times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.
A short time after the report came out, Camacho would take to Twitter to confirm that he has tested positive for COVID-19:
-- God Speed to everyone fighting this weekend! Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID and was pulled from the card for health & safety.---- I know there will be bigger opportunities because of this-- . I am doing well… little body... https://t.co/TLbScWf5LZ
