Report: Jeremy Stephens Injured, UFC 248 Bout To Be Rescheduled

Jeremy Stephens and Calvin Kattar were set to collide in just under two months at UFC 248, but Stephens has suffered an undisclosed injury and the bout has been pulled from the card.

MMA Junkie first reported the news, but it is unknown at the moment as to which card the bout is going to be rescheduled at.

Historical Evolution of MMA

Stephens (28-17-0-1NC) enters the contest on a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the trio of Jose Aldo, Yair Rodriguez and Zabit Magomedsharipov. Stephens hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years, with that last victory coming over Josh Emmett at UFC On Fox 28. Stephens has suffered seventeen losses as a professional MMA fighter and twelve of them have come by way of decision.

Kattar (20-4-0) has won two of his last four in the UFC, with those victories coming over Chris Fishgold and Ricardo Lamas. Kattar has previously headlined one UFC event, which was a decision loss to the aforementioned Magomedsharipov at UFC Fight Night Moscow. Kattar has competed a total of twenty four times as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of those bouts went the distance.

UFC 248 takes place on Saturday, March 8 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
