Report: Jessica Aguilar Removed From UFC Fight Night Austin

MMA

Jessica Aguilar was supposed to fight Livia Renata Souza at UFC Fight Night Austin, but then Souza suffered an injury and was pulled from the card.

With less than a week to go before the event, UFC officials have also decided to remove Aguilar from the card.

MMA Fighting is reporting that UFC officials are looking to book the fight again either at UFC 222 on March 3 or UFC On Fox 28 on February 24. Neither Souza, Aguilar or even the UFC have commented on the fight being re-booked for a future event.

If the bout had gone on as planned, it would have marked the UFC debut for Souza, who is a former Invicta Fighting Championships Strawweight Champion.

With that bout being pulled from the card, UFC Fight Night Austin is now going to be moving on with a total of twelve bouts.

The UFC has also yet to announce which bout is going to get bumped up from the preliminary card to replace the Souza/Aguilar fight on the main card.

UFC Fight Night Austin takes place on Sunday, February 18 from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas with Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
