Less than a week after Ross Pearson was removed from UFC Fight Night Adelaide, it would appear that the injury bug has struck again.
A report from Flo Combat is stating that Joe Duffy, who was supposed to fight Pearson on the card, has also been removed from UFC Fight Night Adelaide due to injury.
The same report also states that UFC officials had signed M-1 Global Lightweight Champion Damir Ismagulov to fight Duffy on the card, but now that bout is scrapped due to the aforementioned injury to Duffy.
There is no word at this time as to whether or not Ismagulov will remain on the card against a late replacement opponent or if the UFC will shift him to another event. The promotion has two weeks to find a suitable replacement, as UFC Fight Night Adelaide in set for December 1.
Ismagulov is expected to compete in the featherweight division going forward now that the short notice opportunity against Duffy has been called off.
UFC Fight Night Adelaide takes place on Saturday, December 1 from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia with Junior Dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
