Report: Jon Tuck Replaces Paul Redmond At Bellator 227

Paul Redmond has suffered an injury and has been pulled from Bellator 227 according to MMA Fighting, replacing him against Brandon Girtz is Jon Tuck.

Tuck (10-5-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout, despite not winning a fight in over two years. Tuck won four of eight under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tiequan Zhang, Jake Lindsey, Tae Hyun Bang and Takanori Gomi. Tuck is also competing for the first time in over a year, with that last bout coming in August of 2018. 

Girtz (16-8-0) has won just two of his last six in Bellator MMA competition, with those wins coming over the duo of Luka Jelcic and Saad Awad. Girtz hasn?t put a winning streak together in almost four years, with his last such streak lasting for three fights. Girtz also had a three fight series with Derek Campos in Bellator MMA, with Girtz winning just one of those three encounters.

Bellator 227 takes place on Friday, September 27 from the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland with Ben Henderson and Myles Jury headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
