Report: Jose Torres Faces Alex Perez At UFC 227


A flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 227 according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN as Jose Torres is in action against Alex Perez.

Torres (8-0-0) has already picked up a single victory under the UFC banner, having defeated Jarred Brooks by second round knockout at UFC Fight Night Utica. Torres also held two separates titles in the Titan Fighting Championships, as he was the promotions bantamweight and flyweight champion. Torres also went undefeated as an amateur MMA fighter, with all of those victories coming under the IMMAF World Championships banner.

Perez (20-4-0) is also undefeated thus far in UFC competition, having defeated the duo of Carls John De Tomas and Eric Shelton. Perez also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 5, defeating Kevin Gray by first round submission. Perez hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years, with that last loss coming to Jared Papazian via first round submission at Tachi Palace Fights 27.
