Jalin Turner needed a new opponent for UFC Fight Night Auckland after the withdrawal of Jamie Mullarkey and now he has one because Josh Culibao has accepted the short notice opportunity.

MMA Junkie first reported the change and the bout is still expected to be a part of the preliminary card.

Turner (8-5-0) has won just one of three thus far in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Callan Potter at UFC 234. Turner hasn’t picked up a victory in just about a year, as the win at UFC 234 took place in February of 2019. Turner has competed a total of thirteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.

Culibao (8-0-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted almost three years. Culibao has previously held gold before joining the UFC, as he is a former Hex Fight Series and Diamondback Fighting Championship Featherweight Champion. Culibao has picked up eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them came by way of KO/TKO.

UFC Fight Night Auckland takes place on Saturday, February 22 from the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand with Paul Felder and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
