Report: Katlyn Cookagian Faces Antonina Shevchenko At UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns

A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns as #2 Katlyn Chookagian faces #12 Antonina Shevchenko.

MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Chookagian (13-3-0) is competing for the first time since losing to UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 247. Chookagian has competed a total of nine times in the UFC and eight of those encounters went the distance. Chookagian is a former CFFC Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Isabelly Varela to win the gold at CFFC 55.

Shevchenko (8-1-0) has won two of three in the UFC, with those wins coming over the duo of Ji Yeon Kim and Lucie Pudilova. Shevchenko has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Roxanne Modafferi at UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg. Shevchenko has competed nine times as a professional MMA fighter and six of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns takes place on Saturday, May 30 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
