The Professional Fighters League (PFL) may not be running any events in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but they may have a legal battle ahead of them against Kayla Harrison and Lance Palmer.
A report from Marc Raimondi of ESPN, on Twitter, states that the fighter are planning on filing a lawsuit against the PFL for lost wages, claiming a breach of contract:
?Attorney Harley Breite, who represents fighters Lance Palmer and Kayla Harrison, tells me that a lawsuit against PFL for breach of contract is imminent. The suit will be asking for back pay for wages lost and termination of contracts due to PFL not running shows this year. Breite: ?If all these other organizations are putting on fights, why not PFL? What?s really going on? What?s behind the yellow tape? ? My clients are fighters. They don?t want to sit at home and watch other people fight.'?
It should be noted that a lawsuit has yet to be filed by Harrison and Palmer against the PFL at this time. Harrison has spent her entire professional MMA career in the PFL, while Palmer competed in the World Series Of Fighting before it became the PFL, winning featherweight gold in both incarnations of the promotion.
There has been no comment from the PFL at this time.
