Report: Kelvin Gastelum, Corey Anderson & Rafael Cordeiro Fined For Antics At UFC 244

MMA

UFC 244 went down last Saturday Night at Madison Square Garden in New York, York York and the main event saw Jorge Masvidal defeat Nate Diaz by third round TKO to win the BMF Championship.

However, not everything went down smoothly before and during UFC 244 as the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) have fined three individuals for their antics at the event according to MMA Junkie

Kelvin Gastelum and coach Rafael Cordeiro were fined $1,000 and $200 respectively for the fighter leaning on the coach during the UFC 244 weigh-ins. The bout with Darren Till was allowed to go on despite the antics at the weigh-ins, but Till still won by decision.

Corey Anderson, who defeated Johnny Walker by first round TKO, was fined $10,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct by the NYSAC for his post-fight celebration. Anderson, besides having a wildly over-enthusiastic celebration after defeating Walker, was also caught shoving referee Kevin MacDonald as well.

Anderson has since apologized for his actions through social media, while neither Gastelum or Cordeiro have publicly apologized at this time.

All three could appeal their fines through the NYSAC and none of them have done that at this time.
