A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 244 according to MMA Junkie as #8 Kevin Lee is going to be in action against #11 Gregor Gillespie.
Lee (17-5-0) is back at lightweight after a one fight stint at welterweight, which was a loss to former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night Rochester. Lee has previously fought for the UFC Interim Lightweight Title, losing to then champion Tony Ferguson at UFC 216. Lee has won just one of his last four in UFC competition, with that lone win coming over Edson Barboza at UFC Fight Night Atlantic City.
Gillespie (13-0-0) has already picked up six victories under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Jordan Rinaldi, Vinc Pichel and Yancy Medeiros. Gillespie is going to be back on a UFC pay-per-view card for the first time in over two years, with his last such appearance coming at UFC 210 in April of 2017. Gillespie has competed a total of thirteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.
