A welterweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 225 according to MMA Fighting as Khonry Gracie is going to be in action against Oscar Vera.
Gracie (1-1-0) is looking to build on the momentum of his first professional MMA victory, which came over Ron Becker via unanimous decision at Bellator 209. Gracie made his professional MMA debut at Bellator 192, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Devon Brock. Gracie has competed a total of two times as a professional MMA fighter and both of those encounters went the distance.
Vera (0-1-0) made his professional MMA debut at Bellator 222, suffering a first round submission loss to Robson Gracie Jr. Vera has no amateur MMA experience to speak of, so his pro MMA debut serves as the fighter’s overall experience. Vera may be the only professional MMA fighter to face two members of the Gracie Family in consecutive professional MMA bouts.
Bellator 225 takes place on Saturday, August 24 from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
