A women’s atomweight division rematch has been added to Rizin 20 as Lindsey VanZandt faces Rena Kubota.
MMA Junkie reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.
VanZandt (7-2-0) defeated Kubota in their first meeting at Bellator 222, with that victory coming by first round submission. VanZandt returned to Bellator MMA after that bout, defeating Shino VanHoose and suffering a defeat to Jessica Correa Delboni. VanZandt has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Kubota (9-3-0) has competed once since the initial meeting with VanZandt, which was a first round TKO win over Alexandra Alvare Carlos at Rizin 19. Kubota has spent the majority of her professional MMA career competing in Rizin, with just two bouts happening outside of the promotion. Kubota has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and two of them came by way of submission.
Rizin 20 takes place on Tuesday, December 31 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with Kai Asakura and an opponent to be announced headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
