A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Fortaleza according to Combate as Livia Renata Souza is in action against Sarah Frota.
Souza (12-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Alex Chambers by first round submission at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo. Souza is a former Invicta Fighting Championship Strawweight Champion, defeating Katja Kankaanpaa at Invicta FC 12 to claim the gold. Souza has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to fellow UFC fighter Angela Hill at Invicta FC 17.
Frota (9-0-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over two years. Frota earned a contract with the UFC after competing on Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil Episode 1, defeating Maiara Amanajas Dos Santos by first round knockout. Frota has picked up nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them have come by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Fortaleza takes place on Saturday, February 2 from the Olympic Training Center in Fortaleza, Brazil with Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
