Report: Lomachenko vs. Lopez Card Averages 1.54 Million Viewers

Teofimo Lopez Jr. defeated Vasily Lomachenko this past Saturday Night to capture the WBA Super, WBO and WBC Franchise titles to his collection.

The show, which aired live on ESPN, brought in an average of 1.54 million viewers according to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports. The main event fight between Lomachenko and Lopez averaged 2.898 million viewers and it never dipped below 2.3 million viewers at anytime.

Competition was at a premium for the boxing events, as an NCAA Football game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs, plus a game seven in the MLB Playoffs aired opposite of the boxing card.

Another thing that may have helped the numbers is that while a UFC card in UFC Fight island 6 aired on Saturday Night, it was over and done with before the main event between Lomachenko and Lopez took place.
