MMA

Luigi Vendramini has suffered a serious knee injury that will require surgery and has been pulled from an upcoming bout against Nick Hein at UFC Fight Night Stockholm.

MMA Fighting first reported the news, but no indication has been given at this time as to how long Vendramini is expected to be out of action for. Hein is also expected to remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials have a little over a month to find him a suitable replacement opponent for Hein to fight at the event this June.

Hein (14-4-0-1NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Davi Ramos and Damir Hadzovic. Hein hasn’t picked up a win in over two years, with that last victory coming against Tae Hyun Bang at UFC Fight Night 93. Hein has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter, with nine of them coming by way of decision.

UFC Fight Night Stockholm takes place on Saturday, June 1 from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden with Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
