Antonio Carlos Jr. was in need of a new foe for UFC Fight Night Brasilia after the withdrawal of Brad Tavares and now he has one because Makhmud Muradov has accepted the short notice opportunity.
MMA Junkie reported the news, but the bouts spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Carlos Jr. (10-4-0-1NC) also comes into the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Ian Heinisch and Uriah Hall. Carlos Jr. was the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3, defeating Vitor Miranda in the finals of the reality show. Carlos Jr. has earned ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came via submission.
Muradov (24-6-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Trevor Smith and Alessio Di Chirico. Muradov will enter the contest on the strength of a thirteen fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years. Muradov has picked up twenty four wins as a professional MMA fighter and sixteen of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
