Report: Marcin Tybura Faces Shamil Abdurakhimov At UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg

A heavyweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg according to Farah Hannoun as #10 Marcin Tybura is in action against #13 Shamil Abdurakhimov.

Tybura (17-4-0) has won just one of his last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming against Stefan Struve at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. Tybura has previously headlined a UFC card, losing to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC Fight Night Sydney. Tybura has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to be defeated by way of submission.

Abdurakhimov (19-4-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Andrei Arlovski and Chase Sherman. Abdurakhimov hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years and that last loss came to Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC Fight Night 102. Abdurakhimov has seen eight of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and Abdurakhimov has picked up wins in seven of those encounters.

UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg takes place on Saturday, April 20 from the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia with Alexander Volkov and Alistair Overeem headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
