A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Columbus as #14 Marlon Vera faces Eddie Wineland.
ESPN first reported the bout, although its spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Vera (15-5-1) enters the contest riding a five fight winning streak, with those wins coming over Wuliji Buren, Guido Cannetti, Frankie Saenz, Nohelin Hernandez and Andre Ewell. Vera hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years, with that last loss coming to Douglas Silva De Andrade at UFC Fight Night Belem. Vera has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came by way of decision.
Wineland (24-13-1) has won just one of his last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Grigory Popov at UFC 238. Wineland has previously challenged for the UFC Bantamweight Title, losing to then champion Renan Barao by second round TKO at UFC 165. Wineland has picked up twenty four wins as a professional MMA fighter and fifteen of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Columbus takes place on Saturday, March 28 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio with Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
