The UFC Featherweight Title could be defended at UFC 222 as champion Max Holloway defends the gold against Frankie Edgar.
MMA Junkie first reported the potential bout.
Holloway (19-3-0) is going to be making the second defense of his title, last defending it against Jose Aldo at UFC 218. Holloway is also a former UFC Interim Featherweight Champion, defeating former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 206 to win the gold. Holloway also enters the fight on the strength of a twelve bout winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four years.
Edgar (22-5-1) was supposed to face Holloway for the first time at UFC 218, but pulled out of the bout due to injury.
