A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Boston according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #12 Maycee Barber is in action against Gillian Robertson.
Barber (7-0-0) has already picked up two wins under the UFC banner, defeating the duo of Hannah Cifers and JJ Aldrich. Barber also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 13, defeating Jamie Colleen by third round TKO. Barber has competed a total of seven times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.
Robertson (7-3-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Sarah Frota and Veronica Macedo. Robertson also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, losing in the opening round of the reality show to Barb Honchak. Robertson has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came to fighters who have competed in the UFC.
UFC Fight Night Boston takes place on Friday, October 18 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with Dominick Reyes and Chris Weidman headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which will air live on ESPN.
