Report: Mayweather vs. McGregor Lawsuit Settlement Reached

Floyd Mayweather picked up a tenth round TKO win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in what some dubbed “The Money Fight” last August.

While the majority of the fans who ordered the show through traditional pay-per-view means had little to no issues with the broadcast, it was a lot different for those who opted to use legal internet pay-per-view streams.

A good portion of the iPPV audience had issues viewing the card, with some just missing portions of the card and others missing it in its entirety. Many of the fans who were left in the dark that night would file a class action lawsuit against the UFC and its live streaming partner.

MMA Junkie is now reporting that a settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit, but the settlement is going to be paid out via various tiers.

Fans who missed more than five minutes of the main event between Mayweather and McGregor will get a full refund, while fans who missed less than five minutes will get $50 back, while those who missed just the preliminary card action (but saw the main event) will get $25. Also, fans who lost out on money due to food and beverage costs will get a choice between 3 months of free UFC Fight Pass (approximately $30 value) or $5.

The payouts are expected to get handed out sometime after July 20, which is when the hearing period for the settlement ends and the final hearing is scheduled for.
