Report: Michael Chiesa Suing Conor McGregor, Barclays Center & Others For Bus Attack

MMA

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and a gaggle of pals attacked a bus full of UFC fighters days before UFC 223, one of the victims in that attack was fellow UFC fighter Michael Chiesa.

Chiesa, who suffered facial lacerations from the bus attack, has decided to file a lawsuit according to TMZ against McGregor, BSE Global (Barclays Center parent company) and the Barclays Center, which is where UFC 223 took place.

The suit alleged that Chiesa has suffered ?serious personal, economic, and other injury? due to the attack, which also cost him a spot against former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis at the event.

Joseph W. Murray is the attorney representing the UFC star and he has levied the following claims against McGregor, BSE Global and the Barclays Center, including negligence, negligent infliction of emotional distress, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring, retention and supervision, and respondeat superior. Chiesa is seeking ?an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of all lower courts,? although an exact financial amount has yet to be revealed.

This could be the first of many suits to be filed against McGregor, as Ray Borg also suffered injuries due to the attack and UFC Women?s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas has been dealing with emotional trauma due to the Irishman?s actions.

Footage from the attack can now be viewed by anybody who wants to see it because it can be seen in the promotional videos for McGregor?s upcoming bout against UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

McGregor has already answered for his actions with the state of New York, as McGregor reached a plea deal that will see the fighter serve five days of community service, attend anger management classes and McGregor must stay away from the victims affected by the attack.
