A women’s strawweight division bout has been added to UFC Fight Night Philadelphia according top Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #6 Karolina Kowalkiewicz is in action against #8 Michelle Waterson.
Kowalkiewicz (12-3-0) has won two of her last three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Jodie Esquibel and Felice Herrig. Kowalkiewicz has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk by decision at UFC 205. Kowalkiewicz has picked up twelve victories as a professional MMA fighter and nine of them have come by way of decision.
Waterson (16-6-0) enters the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, beating Cortney Casey and Felice Herrig. Waterson is a former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, defeating UFC veteran Jessica Penne to win the gold at Invicta FC 5. Waterson has seen her last three fights go the distance and it has been almost two years since the fighter got a finish.
