A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho as #12 Montana De La Rosa faces #14 Mara Romero Borella.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.
De La Rosa (10-5-0) has won three of four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Christina Marks, Rachael Ostovich and Nadia Kassem. De La Rosa competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Nicco Montano. De La Rosa has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.
Borella (12-6-0-2NC) has rotated wins and losses during her UFC run, with the latest bout being a loss to Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night Newark. Borella also competed once in Invicta FC, where she defeated UFC veteran Milana Dudieva by split decision. Borella has suffered six losses as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho takes place on Saturday, February 15 from a location to be announced in Rio Rancho, New Mexico with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
