Report: Morgan Charriere Faces Max Coga For Vacant Featherweight Title At Cage Warriors 116

The recently vacated Cage Warriors featherweight championship will get a new owner at Cage Warriors 116 as Morgan Charriere faces Max Coga.

MMA Junkie first reported the bout. The title was vacated when Mads Burnell signed with Bellator MMA.

Charriere (15-7-1) has won two of three under the Cage Warriors banner. Those wins are over Lewis Monarch and Dean Trueman. Charriere has not suffered a defeat in well over a year. His last loss was at the hands of Soren Bak at Cage Warriors 103. Charriere has suffered six of his seven professional MMA defeats by decision. He has one lone loss by submission.

Coga (22-6-1) is making his Cage Warriors debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two-fight winning streak. Coga won just one of three when competing in the first season of the PFL. His only win was against Marcos Galvao at PFL 4. Coga is a former Superior Fighting Championship featherweight champion, defeating Edgars Skrivers to win the gold at Superior FC 15.

Cage Warriors 116 takes place on Saturday, September 26 from the BEC Arena in Manchester, England. No main event has been announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event. The event streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
