“It’s a wonderful feeling,” Batista said. “I came from Amazonas and earned a contract with one of the biggest promotions in the world. I worked really hard. I’m one of the best lightweights in Brazil, and thank God, now I’m taking another big step in my career with this contract with such a renowned promotion like ONE.”

Batista (15-2-1) comes into the promotion while riding a ten fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years. Batista is also the current TAURA MMA Lightweight Champion, defeating Lucio Abreu at TAURA 8 to win the gold. Batista has competed a total of eighteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those encounters went the distance.

There is no word yet on when Batista will make his One Championship debut, but the fighter will enter a weight class currently ruled by Christian Lee
