Report: Patricio Pitbull vs. Pedro Carvalho Title Bout Rebooked For Bellator 251

The Bellator featherweight championship will be defended in the main event of Bellator 251 as Patricio Pitbull defends against Pedro Carvalho.

The bout serving as a quarterfinal round fight in the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix.MMA Fighting first reported the news. The bout was originally set to happen this past March until the coronavirus pandemic canceled those plans.

Pitbull (30-4-0) is making the fourth defense of his championship, previously defending it against Daniel Weichel, Emmanuel Sanchez and Juan Archuleta. Pitbull advanced to the quarterfinals of the Featherweight Grand Prix by defeating the aforementioned Archuleta at Bellator 228. Pitbull has not been defeated in over four years with that last loss coming to Ben Henderson at Bellator 160.

Carvalho (11-3-0) advanced to the second round of the Featherweight Grand Prix by defeating Sam Sicilia at Bellator 226. Carvalho enters the contest riding a six-fight winning streak and he hasn?t been defeated in almost five years. Carvalho has competed 14 times as a professional MMA fighter and four of those bouts went the distance.

Bellator 251 takes place on Thursday, November 12 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Patricio Pitbull and Pedro Carvalho headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the CBS Sports Network.
