Report: PFL International Qualifier Series Event Set For February 22 In Russia

Officials from the Professional Fighters League (PFL) recently revealed plans to hold five events internationally, with the winners of the five mini-tournaments at said events getting a shot to compete in season three of the PFL.

Russia is going to be the first country to hold one of those events according to Sherdog as the RCC Arena in Ekaterinbirg, Russia will host a four man lightweight tournament featuring Timur Nagibin,  Muratbek Kasimbay, Mikhail Odintsov and Vladimir Kanunnikov.

Both the semi-finals and finals of the tournament take place in the same night, with Nagibin facing Kasimbay in one fight and Odintsov faces Kanunnikov in the other. The winners will then meet later in the evening and the winner will have their shot at $1 million later this year.

The only other reported tournament at this time is being held by Shooto Brazil and that takes place on Sunday, March 1 with four women competing for their shot to win $1 million later this year.

Three other countries are expected to hold tournaments later this years, with those countries being the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Germany. 

There have been no broadcast plans announced yet for this event or the Shooto Brazil card on March 1.
