Report: Ray Borg Being Forced To Compete At Bantamweight

MMA

Ray Borg was last seen in action on the main card of UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho, defeating Rogerio Bontorin by unanimous decision.

However, it was a tainted victory for the fighter, who missed weight by two pounds, which was one of many weight misses for Borg in the UFC.

It now looks like Borg won’t be competing at flyweight, at least in the UFC ever again, as Eric Kowal of My MMA News reports that the fighter is being forced to compete at bantamweight going forward:

Borg has gone 7-4-0 in the UFC (13-4-0 overall), with notable wins coming over Louis Smolka, Jussier Formiga and the aforementioned Bontorin. Borg has previously challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216.

There is no word yet on when Borg will fight again, but it appears that 135 pounds is going to be in the fighter’s permanent future.
