A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira as Ray Borg faces Ricky Simon.
The Sports Daily first reported the fight, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Borg (13-4-0) will enter the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Gabriel Silva and Rogerio Bontorin. Borg hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Casey Kenney at UFC Fight Night Philadelphia. Borg has previously challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216.
Simon (15-3-0) comes into the bout riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Urijah Faber and Rob Font. Simon hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming over Rani Yahya at UFC 234 in February of 2019. Simon has picked up fifteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of them came by way of decision.
UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira takes place on Wednesday, May 13 from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
