Report: Restraining Order Filed Against Anthony Johnson

Former UFC fighter Anthony Johnson retired shortly after a second loss to then UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 210.

However, it appears that the former fighter is facing some outside the Octagon issues as a restraining order has been filed against him according to MMA Junkie. The restraining order was actually filed this past August, but was recently extended to one year by a Florida court, meaning Johnson must stay away from the unnamed woman until February 6 of next year.

The report states that the unnamed Florida woman had filed the restraining order while accusing the former UFC star of online stalking, posting intimate images online and making threats. The two had apparently dated for a short time, but they are no longer together and no reason has been given for their breakup.

Scott B. Saul is serving as Johnson’s legal representative and he says the issues between the two are simply a misinterpretation.

“He’s saying I’m going to go get my gun, and her interpretation was (the message was) aimed at her,” Saul said. “His position was somebody on social media was stalking him, and he was saying it in reference to the person bothering him and not her. That’s his position, and also I believe he may have posted a picture of her performing something intimate on him. But it all had to do with social media postings.”

This is not the first time that Johnson has been in legal trouble, as the former fighter was accused of domestic violence in 2009, sending death threats in 2014 and a claim of stalking was filed against him in 2015.
