A bantamweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 222 according to Sherdog as Ricky Bandejas is going to be in action against Patrick Mix.
Bandejas (11-2-0) has won just one of two under the Bellator MMA banner and that lone win came against James Gallagher at Bellator 204. Bandejas is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championship Bantamweight Champion, defeating Nick Mamalis at CFFC 69 to win the gold. Bandejas has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and one of them came to UFC veteran Nick Pace.
Mix (10-0-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted almost three years. Mix is a King Of The Cage Bantamweight Champion and has relinquished the title upon signing with Bellator MMA. Mix also holds a victory over UFC veteran Andre Ewell and that win came via first round submission at King Of The Cage: Ultimate Mix in November of 2017.
Bellator 222 takes place on Friday, June 14 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Lyoto Machida headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
