Ronda Rousey could be returning to combat sports, but not the UFC or WWE.
Lance Pugmire of Boxing Scene reports that Ronda Rousey vs. Katie Taylor in a boxing match is in the works. The fight would reportedly take place in Las Vegas in 2026.
Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs) defeated Amanda Serrano in July. The fight aired on Netflix.
Rousey has not fought since losing back-to-back UFC fights to Holly Holm in November 2015 and Amanda Nunes in December 2016. After her MMA career, she transitioned to the world of wrestling, where she won the WWE Women’s Championship and headlined WrestleMania.
Rousey has been training, saying she’s been doing it for the joy. You can find her full comments here.
Speaking to Boxing Scene about her future, Taylor said, “I’m not too sure – waiting to see what happens. I’m ready to fight whenever, really, and take on whatever challenge comes next. Right now, I’m waiting to see what that is. Any of the big names, any of the big fights – I’m ready to take on them all.”
Fightful will provide more information on the fight when it is known.
