A women’s bantamweight division fight is in the works for UFC On Fox 28 per MMA Junkie as #8 Sara McMann could be facing #10 Marion Reneau.
McMann (11-4-0) was reported to be fighting Yana Kunitskaya at the very same event, but that doesn’t appear to be the case any longer. McMann has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title, losing to then champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 170. McMann has suffered a total of four defeats in her professional MMA career, with three of them coming to past or current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champions.
Reneau (8-3-1) had been set to fight Tonya Evinger at UFC Fight Night Austin, but the bout was canned after Evinger suffered an injury. Reneau has won two of her last three fights under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Talita Bernardo and Milana Dudieva. Reneau has seen six of her seven bouts in the UFC go into the third round and three of them went the distance.
UFC On Fox 28 takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
