Sean O'Malley has no known fractures following his injury at UFC 252, but he will need an MRI.
O?Malley competed in the co-main event of UFC 252, suffering a first-round TKO loss to Marlon Vera. "Sugar" Sean looked fleet-footed early but suffered a leg injury that led to his eventual demise. O?Malley seemingly suffered an ankle and/or lower leg injury moments before suffering the TKO loss.
Ariel Helwani of ESPN says that O?Malley had an x-ray on his lower leg and ankle, but no fractures were found. He will, however, need an MRI once the swelling in that area goes down.
O?Malley suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career, but this was the second time he suffered an ankle/low leg injury. O'Malley injured his leg in a fight with Andre Soukhamthath at UFC 222.
UFC 252 took place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, August 15. Miocic defeated Cormier by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) to cap off their trilogy.
