Report: Shane Burgos Faces Josh Emmett On June 20 UFC Card

A featherweight division attraction has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card as #8 Josh Emmett faces #10 Shane Burgos

Ariel Helwani of ESPN first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at the moment.

Emmett (15-2-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Michael Johnson and Mirsad Bektic. Emmett hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years, with that last loss coming to Jeremy Stephens at UFC On Fox 28. Emmett has competed a total of seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those bouts went the distance. 

Burgos (13-1-0) comes into the bout riding a three fight winning streak, picking up wins over Kurt Holobaugh, Cub Swanson and Makwan Amirkhani. Burgos also hasn’t been defeated in over two years, with his last loss coming to Calvin Kattar at UFC 220. Burgos won six of seven bouts as an amateur MMA fighter, with one win coming over Bellator MMA veteran Ricky Bandejas

The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, June 20 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
