Report: Stephan Bonnar Arrested For DUI

UFC Hall Of Fame member and Bellator MMA veteran Stephan Bonnar was arrested this past Sunday by Las Vegas, Nevada police for driving under the influence (DUI).

TMZ is reporting that Bonnar has also been charged with unsafe movement of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest, which is in addition to the DUI charge.

The report states that Nevada Highway Patrol officers found Bonnar surrounded by other vehicles and concerned citizen. Those citizens apparently has surrounded Bonnar’s car and had Bonnar restrained until the police took over. Bonnar had apparently tried resisting the arresting officers, but was eventually apprehended and brought into jail.

Bonnar is scheduled to appear in court to answer for the charges on November 26, a DUI charge is a third degree felony in the state of Nevada. The UFC and Bellator MMA star hasn’t competed since Bellator 131 on September 5 of 2014, where he suffered a split decision loss to former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and fellow UFC Hall Of Fame member Tito Ortiz.

Although he has never officially retired from MMA competition, an attempt has been made by Bonnar to transition into pro wrestling, but the longtime MMA fighter has only made a handful of appearances in the squared circle at this time.
