A heavyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 249 as Steve Mowry faces Shawn Teed.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout. Mowry (7-0-0) has already picked up three wins under the Bellator MMA banner with those wins coming over Ben Moa, Darion Abbey and Gokhan Saricam. Mowry had previously competed in the Titan Fighting Championships, winning four or four in the promotion. Mowry has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts went the distance.
Teed (6-2-1) is the current CFFC heavyweight champion, but he?ll be relinquishing the title now that he has signed with Bellator. Teed has won just one of his last three entering Bellator with that lone win coming over Ben Reiter at CFFC 79. Teed has competed nine times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.
Bellator 249 takes place on Thursday, October 15 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Cris Cyborg and Arlene Blencowe headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the CBS Sports Network.
