A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to the yet to be announced June 20 UFC card as #12 Tecia Torres faces Brianna Van Buren.
MMA Fighting first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Torres (10-5-0) enters the contest on a four fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Jessica Andrade, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Weili Zhang and Marina Rodriguez. Torres hasn’t picked up a win in almost three years, with that last victory coming over Michelle Waterson at UFC 218. Torres has competed fifteen times as a professional MMA fighter and fourteen of those bouts went the distance.
Van Buren (9-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Livinha Souza by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Sacramento. Van Buren also won the inaugural Invicta FC Phoenix Series Tournament, defeating UFC veteran Kailin Curran in the finals. Van Buren has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of them came by decision.
The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, June 20 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
