MMA

Professional MMA fighter Cedric Marks was indicted on two counts of murder for the slayings of Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin, which happened in January of this year.

Texas prosecutors from the Bell County (Texas) District Attorney?s Office have filed a formal notice to seek the death penalty against Marks according to MMA Junkie.

The murders of Scott and Swearingin took place on January 3, while their bodies were discovered in a shallow grave in Clearview, Oklahoma about a week later. Marks has pleaded not guilty in the murders of Swearingin and Scott, as Scott was his ex-girlfriend at the time the slayings took place.

Michael White is Marks? attorney and he says that there was no surprise that the death penalty is being sought against the professional MMA fighter. Maya Maxwell is Marks? current girlfriend and she is facing charges for the slayings of Scott and Swearingin, as she was present when the murders took place.

Marks? last professional MMA bout took place in March of 2018, which was a first round TKO loss to Edmilson Freitas at Rocks Xtreme MMA 23. Marks hasn?t picked up a win in over seven years and is currently in the midst of a six fight losing streak.
