Report: Thiago Alves Faces Alexey Kunchenko At UFC Fight Night Moscow

A welterweight division attraction has been added to the forthcoming UFC Fight Night Moscow card according to Combate as Thiago Alves faces Alexey Kunchenko.

Alves (22-12-0) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Patrick Cote at UFC 210. Alves has previously challenged for the UFC Welterweight Title, losing to then champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 100. Alves earned his last win by way of decision and it has been over three years since Alves got a win by some form of finish.

Kunchenko (18-0-0) is going to be making his UFC debut this year and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over five years. Kunchenko is a former M-1 Challenge Welterweight Champion and he held onto the gold until signing with the UFC. Kunchenko is fighting outside of the M-1 Challenge promotion for the first time in over two years, with the last time he fought outside the organization being in November of 2015.

UFC Fight Night Moscow takes place on Saturday, September 15 from the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia with Mark Hunt and Alexey Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
