Report: Thiago Santos Faces Anthony Smith At UFC Fight Night Belem

A middleweight division attraction may be the latest addition to UFC Fight Night Belem as Thiago Santos is possibly in action against Anthony Smith.

Santos (16-5-0) enters the fight on a three bout winning streak and he hasn?t suffered a defeat in well over a year. Santos hasn?t seen one of his bouts go the distance in almost two years and the last one to do so came against Elias Theodorou at UFC Fight Night 80. Santos has suffered a total of four defeats under the UFC banner and three of those defeats came to TUF alumni.

Smith (28-12-0) is going to be entering the fight having won three in a row and the last win came over Hector Lombard at UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh. Smith is currently in the midst of his second UFC run and the fighter has a record of 4-2-0 in the promotion. Smith is also a two fight Bellator MMA veteran, defeating the duo of Victor Moreno and Brian Green.

UFC Fight Night Belem takes place on Saturday, February 3 from the Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
