There are less than three weeks away from the Rizin 15 event, but some additions and changes have been made to the card according to MMA Fighting as Justin Scoggins replaces Ulka Sasaki against Kai Asakura, while Christiano Frohlich faces Karl Albrektsson, Kana Watanabe faces Justyna Haba and Shinju Auclair faces Saray Orozco.
Scoggins (11-6-0) hasn’t won a fight in over three years, with that last win coming against Ray Borg at UFC Fight Night 82 in February of 2016. Asakura (7-1-0) is undefeated under the Rizin banner, with three of the four wins coming by way of decision.
Frohlich (10-4-0) is making his Rizin debut in this encounter and is also returning to action for the first time in almost a year. Albrektsson (8-2-0) has rotated wins and losses under the Rizin banner, holding an overall record of 2-2-0 in the promotion.
Watanabe (6-0-1) has competed twice before in Rizin, defeating Shizuka Sugiyama on two separate occasions. Haba (1-0-0) made her professional MMA debut last year at Rizin 14, defeating Shinju Auclair by second round submission.
Auclair (2-1-0) is looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came against the aforementioned Haba at Rizin 14. Orozco (3-2-0) is making her Rizin debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak.
Rizin 15 takes place on Sunday, April 21 from the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan with King Mo and Jiri Prochazka headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on Fite TV.
