Bellator 243 has taken a hit after a pair of fights have been removed from the event.
Christian Edwards vs. Ahmed Samir Henry, and Joel Bauman vs. Taylor Johnson have both been eliminated from the Friday, August 7 card. MMA Junkie first reported the news. Bauman and Henry were pulled from the card for ?undisclosed reasons.?
The report also states that Edwards and Johnson will get compensated by the promotion, despite not fighting on the Bellator 243 card. The amount of that compensation isn?t known at this time.
Both of the removed bouts were a part of the preliminary card, which will now move on with six fights in total.
Bellator 243 takes place on Friday, August 7 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Michael Chandler vs. Ben Henderson serves as the headliner. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event. It airs live on the Paramount Network.
