A heavyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 225 according to Sherdog as Tyrell Fortune is going to be in action against Rudy Schaffroth.
Fortune (6-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, last defeating Ryan Porkyfky at Bellator 216. Fortune has picked up a total of six wins as a professional MMA fighter and four of those victories came by way of KO/TKO. Fortune has no amateur MMA experience, but was an NCAA Division II national champion wrestler.
Schaffroth (6-0-0-1NC) has competed twice under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating the duo of Jon Hill and Vernon Lewis. Schaffroth has competed a total of seven times as a professional MMA fighter and all of those encounters ended within the opening round. Schaffroth also held the Full Contact Fighting Federation Heavyweight Title as an amateur, winning the gold by defeating Casey Lunzman in August of 2015.
Belator 225 takes place on Saturday, August 24 from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
