Report: UFC 246 Prelims Draw Just Under 2 Million Viewers

The UFC kicked off the decade with UFC 246, which featured former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor defeating Donald Cerrone by first round TKO in the main event.

A four fight preliminary card aired live on ESPN before the pay-per-view and that brought in 1,767,000 according to MMA Fighting. The four fights that were a part of that portion of the preliminary card saw Roxanne Modafferi defeat Maycee Barber, Sodiq Yusuff defeat Andre Fili, Askar Askarov defeat Tim Elliott and Drew Dober defeat Nasrat Haqparast.

It was the featured preliminary card bout between the aforementioned Modafferi and Barber that brought in the most viewers, with 1,911,000 people checking out that encounter.

Competition was at a high level for the UFC 246 preliminary card, as a PBC On Fox card and an NBA Basketball game on ABC aired opposite the event. The report from MMA Fighting also states that approximately 11 million Google searches were done on UFC 246 on fight night.

Up next for the UFC is UFC 247, which features UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones facing Dominick Reyes in the main event.
