MMA

The UFC is back in action in just over one week’s time with UFC 249, which is going to be headlined by former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson and former WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje battling for the vacant UFC Interim Lightweight Title.

Dana White had previously stated that everybody involved with the event would be tested, but didn’t specifically mention that they would be tested for the coronavirus.

However, a report from MMA Fighting is stating that the UFC will now test the fighters, coaches and training partners who will participate at UFC 249 for the coronavirus. There are actually going to be multiple coronavirus tests done by the promotion before the event takes place. The report also states that kits may have already been sent out to those who have to be tested before the event.

UFC 249 takes place on Saturday, April 18 from the Tachi Palace Resort Casino in Lemoore, California with Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
