Report: UFC Signs Petr Yan

Absolute Championships Berkut Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan has reportedly signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC according to Sayat MMA.

Yan (8-1-0 captured the ACB Bantamweight Title at ACB 57 in April 2017, defeating Magomed Magomedov via unanimous decision in their second encounter. Yan did defend the belt once before signing with the UFC, defeating Matheus Mattos by third round knockout at ACB 71 in September of 2017. Yan has spent the majority of his professional MMA career competing in Russia and has earned most wins by way of decision.

The UFC has yet to publicly announce the signing of the ACB veteran or when the fighter could be making his promotional debut.

Later this year, a UFC event is expected to be taking place in Russia and that signing could be a way to add another big name Russian talent to the roster before said event.

It is also unknown at this time if the UFC is going to add more Russian fighters to the roster before the potential debut in the country.

MMA Fighting is also reporting that Yan is expecting to make his promotional debut this May, but the UFC has yet to announce any events for that month.
